Life is still moving on

It is funny how you'll sit and look at blogs for long periods of time, but will go weeks without updating your own. Life has been pretty much the same for Matt and I. We go to work, go to mutual and volleyball, work on trucks and go to sleep. That is about all we do, everyday. Not too interesting, I know. The weekends seem to be a little more exciting for us though. Conference weekend, Matt and I went down to Tucson to hang out with the fam and have a little time away. Matt and I went up to our cabin on Friday night and spent the night there, just the two of us. It was great. We then got up early, well Matt did and he biked down Mt. Lemon, just past Wendy point. It was great to see him enjoying himself and his bike! Last weekend, I went to the botanical gardens with my mother-in-law, LaReda, and three really cute nieces! We had a blast walking around, enjoying nature, and trying to get butterflies to land on us. I will post some pictures when I get them. Until then, here are some random pictures of Matt and I staring in, "The Days of Our lives!" I know, that was lame, but I still laughed to myself.

Matt's Randevous

Matt took Garrett, my twin brother, out for a jaunt little ride in his truck the other week. This was Garrett's first ride with Matt. He said he only feared for his life a few times. Thos, Morgan and Lauren, Brett and HP actually went along too! They went somewhere I dont remember, up by four peaks I think! I was at a vball tournament, so who to better replace me that my own twin! They got stuck, Brett almost fell down the side of the mountain and HP was there the entire way to get everyone out! I love seeing Matt have so much fun with family.

Catchin Up!

Where does the time go? I always post a comment on my sisters' blogs saying they need to updated, then I look down at my last post - March 12th! I guess I need to take my own advice. Things have been going really well and not too much new to report on. A few weekends ago we went up to Show Low for Porter's bday and decided to take a detour on the way home. Instead of going to usual route - through Heber, Payson - we went through Young and Globe. It took 5 hours instead of the normal 3. It was long but beautiful and totally worth every minute of it. Matt and I headed up the front while Morgan and Lauren brought up the rear in their truck. There was some snow, but for the most part it was just beautiful. We stopped and took some pictures a long the way. The best was ending up on the backside of Roosevelt Lake looking a the dam. It was breathtaking. Unfortunately, our camera ran out of batteries, so there are no pictures of that. While on our voyage, I had to use the restroom - what else is new right? We stopped in Young to go to the bathroom and could not find an open store to go in. One gas station didn't have one, another one wouldn't let customers use it. Finally, out of nowhere, a beautiful structure appeared - a LDS church!! Hooray! Remember that Young doesn't have a stoplight, a Walmart (I don't consider you a city if you don't have a Walmart, even Safford has one)! But, it did have a church building. We pulled over and used the bathroom, what a relief! I did get a picture of that. Here are the pictures of our wonderful adventure.

And so it begins...

You know it's about to be summer (AZ doesn't do spring!) when you get into your car at 3 pm and you burn your hand on the stearing wheel!

You know it's about to be summer when you can't buckle your seatbelt b/c it is too blasted hot!

You know it's about to be summer when you have to change the comforter on your bed b/c the down one makes you sweat at night. Or you can do my fix, and just sleep on top of it with another blanket - extra squishy!

You know it's about to be summer when you can take a walk at 9:00 at night in shorts and a t-shirt!

So, as you can see there are some things I am really excited for in regards to the weather change and some things I am not excited for. There are lots of different things I want to do now the weather is a little warmer. I am excited!

Fit for a king!

Matt and I went to Show Low for a great weekend with Annie, Trever and the boys. We sure love going up there, it is really relaxing and the food is always great! One of the only things Matt has wanted to do this winter was to make an igloo! His dreams came true! Show Low got hit with a snow storm as we were driving up on Friday night. Saturday, after a bridal shower for the girls and some target practice for the boys, Matt and Trever set to it! The got buckets, gloves, and motivation and created a masterpiece. I must admit that I did not think it would turn out as good as it did. The pictures I have are not the finished product. For the absolute finished igloo mansion, go to Trever and Annie's blog. The blog was huge, it could fit 4 people in it! Deep down I think Matt wanted to sleep in it, but I did not! Hope everyone had a great President's Day!

Valentine's Day!

I am not a huge fan of Valentine's Day. Sure, I appreciate the added love and chocolate given by your husband, or lover, but...for the most part, I don't think you need a day to show someone how much you care. I think Valentine's Day is a hallmark day. A day to raise the prices of flowers to a ridiculous rate, and to crowd the sides of streets with teddy bears and silly things. I especially hate teaching on Valentine's Day because their are 3,200 students carrying around teddy bears bigger than themselves, 100 balloons each and they are all on a sugar high from period 1! On the flip side, being a little hypocritical...Matt is the sweetest husband around! We decided that we are going to start a new tradition of making our Valentine cards. Since Matt loves to make things, tinker with his hands in the garage, I decided to make his out of metal. I love to eat, so Matt made mine out of chocolate.Here are the final products!

For not loving Valentine's Day, Matt did a fantastic job of making it a great, romantic day for me. I had volleyball practice, so while I was gone, Matt ordered Cafe Rio (my favorite) and we had chocolate fondue with Morgan and Lauren. It was a great way to spend the evening with loved ones!
